Located in the Grand Garage in historic downtown Stillwater, Minnesota, the Chef's Gallery is a complete source for all your culinary desires. We pride ourselves in having everything from the expected to the extraordinary: the finest cookware, bakeware, utensils, gadgets, gourmet food, dinnerware, and serving pieces from around the world. What we do not have, we will happily order for you.

Our teaching facility features a beautiful granite island and the latest Viking appliances, yet retains all the charm of old Stillwater.Well-qualified instructors both entertain and advise on culinary techniques and menu planning, from basic to advanced. All classes include tastings and recipes.

Summer is Delicious!

We had the best time with new ideas for this latest class schedule! Summer is a great season for cooking – all the local and beautiful vegetables that are available open up endless possibilities. We also have been in contact with more local and sustainable farms and growers. It’s astounding how much we have available that has been produced within 100 miles of Stillwater. Everything from eggs to grass-fed beef to garlic and wines are rich from the St. Croix Valley. We have incorporated so many of these into our classes. We have a “100 Mile Challenge” with our friends at Revé 324, where they have built an entirely local (and fabulous) menu to teach us to use these gifts. We also have a winery tour in this schedule that we are so excited about, where Chef Jim Kyndberg takes us in a luxury bus to five local producers of award winning wines whose grapes are from this region. Creating menus as we go, Chef Jim will help us better understand how to discern the flavors in various wines and pair them with the foods we serve. In our local themed collection of classes, we have two historic culinary events combining the rich lore of Stillwater in the lumbering years, with trolley stops for period food. These Stillwater Trolley tours are highlights of our summer calendar – progressive meals that include a wonderful historical tour of Stillwater! We’ll live like lumber barons and Victorian ladies! We’ll also enjoy a cruise on the St. Croix river with a very special Riedel varietal-specific wine workshop as Maximilian Riedel shares knowledge of fine stemware, and you will experience for yourself why the glass can make such a difference in enjoyment of wines.
